Just a few days after the downgrader was updated to fully support firmware 6.61, Developer Rahim-US has updated the ME CFW & LME CFW to firmware 6.61.

I also have updated some of my projects. My LightSpeed Mod has been updated to firmware 6.61 as well.

Developer Rahim-US, the person in charge of updating Neur0n’s ME & LME CFW, has published an updated version of the ME and LME CFW, which now also support the firmware 6.61.

The ME and LME CFWs are the most versatile CFWs there are, and I personally would recommend these CFWs to anyone who is interested in using a CFW on the PSP.

Since this has been a simple port from 6.60 to 6.61, no new features have been added, so the 6.61 ME & LME CFW have the same features as the 6.60 ME & LME CFW.

The 6.61 ME-2.3 CFW also supports cIPL, which means that an old PSP 1000 or PSP 2000 (non-88v3) using the 6.61 ME CFW is capable of rebooting (or losing power) without having to use any kind of launcher to return into CFW mode.

It is currently the only 6.61 CFW that offers cIPL support.

The LME CFW can not do such kind of magic (except on firmware 6.20, thanks to the permanent patch), since it is made for the newer PSPs (2000 88v3, 3000s, Go, E1000), which do not support cIPL.

These PSPs have to use a launcher to return into CFW mode after rebooting the device (or losing power), but there is a solution to return into CFW mode with ease and style.

LightSpeed 661

My LightSpeed XMB Mod is the solution. It replaces either the digital comics or SensMe channels XMB Icon and reuses it as an CFW launcher.

It is easy to use and also easy to uninstall, if you dont like it. So why don’t you give it a try?

This pretty much brings the firmware 6.61 to the same level as the firmware 6.60. All important things that have been available for 6.60 either just work on 6.61 or have been ported to 6.61.

Now lets wait another 3.5 years for PSP firmware 6.62, haha.
