Note from Wololo: This tutorial was initially published by /Talk member gokumert, as part of our monthly tutorial contest. Gokumert won the best PSP tutorial prize (a $20 PSN Code) for his entry. You can find the original post here.
Here is a complete tutorial on how to use your own music in GTA Liberty City Stories.
To begin, this tutorial only works in theory with an original cd but you can use your MP3 also, so I will divide this tutorial into 2 parts, one with original cd and another without original cd.
To use MP3 files go directly to the step II, and then proceeds to Step III to complete the tutorial in both cases.
To begin, you must download Rockstar custom track (you can find it here : http://www.rockstargames.com/libertycitystories/dry/downloads/RCT_Install.zip) and then unzip using winrar or winzip and install the software.
Once relaunched, connect the psp in usb mode then run the program.
Step I – With original audio cd
Insert an audio CD into your drive.
You get the songs on the CD.
You can rename the song titles if you want … But it’s no use.
Just click on the left button next to the title of the cd, and the files will be transferred to your memory stick.
Now go to the Step III
Step II – With MP3s
It is interesting to know that only WAV files are compatible with the software of rockstar, so you will have to start by encoding your MP3 files to WAV with any video converter (you can find a lot on the internet).
Then we will have to create a CD Image (often called iso), basically a virtual cd.
To do that I used nero burning rom.
Choose Create an audio CD, if you do not take this option it does not work.
Select the add button, and choose your previously encoded file, then once all the songs selected click next.
In the first menu that appears select Image Recorder [CD-R/RW] and then start copying by clicking burn on the bottom right.
Once the CD image created you should install a virtual reader, there is many (Alcohol120%, daemon tools and many others), I’ll use Alcohol120% for explanation because it is the easiest.
Install the virtual reader, and once done just run it and go to the left menu option and then click General, a new window will appear, then you need to click on the virtual reader.
In the menu that appears put under the number of virtual drive the number 1, after a few seconds you will have a virtual DVD drive on your desktop.
Right click on your virtual drive and choose mount an image.
And choose your cd created before, here it is finished, you can simply refer to the step I to put your music on the PSP.
Step III – to complete
Finally, you can simply activate the sound band option in GTA and your music will be accessible by car.
Have fun with it!
